Let's Meet Thomas!

This website would be pretty boring if we didn’t have cool pictures to show you. That’s why we want to introduce you to Thomas Marent. How does he get some of those great pictures you can see in the Rainforest Journey website? Can you imagine crouching in squishy mud for hours waiting to capture a shot of some odd rainforest creature?

Thomas is a photographer of wildlife and the rainforest. He first set foot in a rainforest at age 23 and has been traveling to rainforests around the world ever since. When he’s not traveling, he stays at his home in Switzerland. His magnificent photos are found in books, magazines, and calendars. Some of the information and pictures found on this website are from his beautiful coffee table book, Rainforest. He has sold over 300,000 copies, and it has been translated into 15 different languages. Although his book is written for adults, we have used the information and images so elementary students just like you can get in on the all the action.
