Let's Meet Jeff!

Picture yourself waking up in a lodge in the rainforest day after day. Wouldn’t you enjoy trekking out to the jungle with a camera to explore and photograph? Jeff Cremer does! Jeff is a wildlife photographer and a photography tour guide in the Peruvian Amazonian Rainforest. His breathtaking work is found in books and magazines as well as right here in the Rainforest Journey science program. He was recently published in the world’s largest atlas, the “EARTH Platinum Edition”. We are happy he is willing to share some of his awesome photos, videos, and valuable knowledge with us.

Did you notice the giant lens on Jeff’s camera? It is covered in a camouflage pattern to blend in with the trees of the rainforest. He also often wears camouflage clothing when photographing. Jeff is doing just what many animals and insects of the rainforest do: they have a color or shape that is similar to their surroundings. This is camouflage, a kind of trick that helps them hide from predators. Most animals think humans are predators, so Jeff uses the same trick to hide from them.
